The aim of the research is the study of the perception of F. M. Dostoevsky's work in Sweden in the 1880s. The method of the first article of the cycle is the analysis of the background of cultural and social phenomena and the ways of introducing Dostoevsky to Swedish readers. The article describes the role of G. Brandes, S. Kovalevskaya, E. de Vogüe, V. Benediktsson and G. af Geijerstam. The result of two articles is the description of reasons of interest to Dostoevsky and the aspects of his work that appeared burning for Swedish readers.
