The goal of this research is to show how changes in various areas of the life of an individual person and society influence the vocabulary formation of the Swedish language. The data analyzed in this study were the neologisms recorded in the Swedish language in 2022–2024 and published on the website of the Language Council of Sweden and in the linguistic journal “Språktidningen”. During the research a range of theme groups of the new Swedish vocabulary was found, all of which were related to the new events in the social and political life in the country and the world, such as the escalation of the political and economic situation, the energy crisis, ecological and climate problems, artificial intelligence. The method of synchronous sociolinguistic description was used for the analysis of the material.
