Abstract

The regio- and stereoselective reaction of tellurium tetrachloride with 1-phenylpent-1-yne was used to develop efficient methods of synthesis of trichloro[(Z)-2-chloro-2-phenyl-1-propylethenyl]-λ⁴-tellane and 1,2 -bis[(Z)-2-chloro-2-phenyl-1-propylethenyl]ditellane in 95 and 80% yields, respectively.
