The following are the main responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process: publisher, editors, reviewers and authors.

Duties of the Publisher

The publisher of the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis undertakes to follow, maintain, and contribute to the development of all the standards of ethical responsibilities set forth below for Editors, Reviewers and Authors of the scientific journal "Cognition and Experience", as well as adhere to the basic norms of publication ethics.

Duties of Editors

The Editor is responsible for making a decision on the publication of materials submitted to the journal "Cognition and Experience". The most important aspects of an editor's decision to publish a manuscript are its originality, reliability and scientific significance. The editor evaluates the content of the manuscript regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, origin, citizenship and political views. When deciding whether to publish a manuscript, the Editor may seek advice from Reviewers and other Editors.

The Editor adheres to the principles of an impartial and anonymous procedure for evaluating all incoming materials and manuscripts addressed to the editorial office of the journal "Cognition and Experience". Unnecessarily undertakes not to disclose information about the accepted manuscript to third parties, with the exception of those who are directly involved in the work on the manuscript. Unpublished data placed in an accepted manuscript cannot be used by the Editor for personal purposes or transferred to third parties without the written consent of the author. When working with a manuscript, the principle of confidentiality must be observed. In the event of a conflict of interest with the Authors or organizations represented in the manuscript, the Editor must recuse himself from consideration of this manuscript.

The Editor with the active help and support of the Publisher must resolve all conflicts and claims that arise regarding the materials under consideration or published materials, and also take all possible measures and necessary decisions to restore violated rights.

Duties of Reviewers

The Reviewer helps the Editors to make a decision on the publication of the manuscripts received by the "Cognition and Experience" editorial staff. In particular, the Reviewer can help the Authors to improve the quality of the submitted material with his comments and remarks on the manuscript. Upon receipt of the material for review, the Reviewer must adequately assess his qualifications and the availability of free time to quickly complete the work. Otherwise, he is obliged to promptly contact the Editor of the journal "Cognition and Experience" to exclude him from the review process of the corresponding manuscript and with the subsequent appointment of a new Reviewer.

The Reviewer should not show or discuss the peer-reviewed manuscript with third parties, unless authorized by the Editor. The Reviewer has no right to use unpublished data from the reviewed manuscript for personal purposes without obtaining the appropriate written consent from the Author. Obliged to observe the principle of confidentiality in the performance of his work. The Reviewer should not participate in the review of the manuscript if he has a conflict of interest with the Author or the organization represented in the manuscript.

The Reviewer must give an objective and reasoned assessment of the materials presented in the manuscript; personal criticism of the Author is unacceptable. The Reviewer should point out the absence of significant published works corresponding to the subject of the submitted manuscript and not included in the bibliographic list. The Reviewer must ensure that previously published materials and simultaneously presented in the manuscript are accompanied by bibliographic references. The Reviewer must inform the Editor of any significant coincidences found between the work in question and previously published materials.

Duties of Authors

The Author (or Authors) is directly responsible for the presentation of the original and reliable material in the manuscript, which he sends for consideration to the scientific journal "Cognition and Experience". By sending the manuscript to the editorial office, the Author guarantees that all the research results described in it are completely original and reliable, that there are no falsified data in it, and all borrowed fragments and statements are drawn up properly with the obligatory indication of the author and the original source. Plagiarism in any form is an act of unethical behavior. At a reasonable request from the Editor, the Author must be ready to provide access to the primary data presented in the manuscript, and must also keep this data for a sufficiently long period of time after publication.

The Author should not submit to the journal "Cognition and Experience" a manuscript that is currently under consideration in another journal, or which was previously published in another publication. The publication of certain types of articles (for example, translated articles, clinical guidelines) in more than one journal in some cases can be considered ethical, provided that important conditions are met: 1) Authors and Editors of all interested journals must agree to republish the work with the same data and interpretations; 2) the bibliography of the primary publication should be reflected in the second work; 3) the Author is obliged to provide the Editor with a copy of the manuscript, which contains material similar to that presented in the manuscript proposed for publication.

The Author of the article indicates the one who made the primary contribution to the design, development, execution and interpretation of the research results. The author is obliged to indicate as co-authors of the article all who made a significant contribution to the research (all co-authors must be familiar with the final version of the work and agree with its submission for publication in its current form). It is unacceptable to indicate as co-authors persons who did not take part in the work. Individuals who have made less significant contributions to the presented work, you can express special thanks on the pages of the manuscript. It is necessary to reflect the contribution of all researchers to the published work – provide links to all studies that were found to be important for the Authors to carry out their own work.

The Author must clearly indicate in the work if the research carried out involves the use of chemicals, procedures and / or equipment, during operation with which an increased risk is possible. If animals or people were involved in the work as objects of research, the Author must make sure that the manuscript contains the necessary references confirming that all stages of the research were in accordance with the laws and regulations of research organizations, the provisions on the use of laboratory animals approved by the relevant committees, and also that the right to privacy was respected if the object of the study was a person.

The Author is obliged to mention in the manuscript any possible financial or other conflicts of interest that could affect the results or conclusions of the study.

If the Author discovers significant inaccuracies or fundamental errors in the manuscript (at the stage of consideration or publication), he must immediately inform the Editor about it in order to correct these inaccuracies.
