Aims and Scope
The mission of the journal is to provide an open platform for original, first-time published research results in the field of ergodesign, which contribute to the advancement of domestic and foreign practices in this field.
The scientific journal "Ergodesign" aims at coordinating the efforts of developers and users of new systems, products and technologies in the field of ergonomic support for design projects.
The development of ergodesign in Russia as a scientific direction is due to the fact that the subject of research in the field of design activity includes not only systems and products themselves and not only a human as a subject of production, but also the coordination of his physical, psychological and physiological capabilities and features of ergonomic systems in the process of their designing. Trends in ergodesign development lead to the need to apply the developed methods and criteria to any sphere of human activity, both in production and in everyday life.
The use of ergodesign achievements is an important direction of improving the consumer properties of industrial products and improving working conditions, and the standardization of the norms and requirements of this scientific discipline is the most effective means of solving these problems.
Safety, comfort, ergonomics, aesthetics of the created systems, products and technologies from the point of view of their designing should be realized in the best domestic models of equipment and should determine the competitiveness of our products in the world market.
Policy of the Journal
The editorial policy of the journal is based on the following principles:
- objective and impartial selection of papers for publishing;
- high demands for the quality of scientific research;
- compliance with the reliability, scientific significance and relevance of published papers;
- collective character of making decisions about the publication of papers;
- comprehensive and efficient communication with authors;
- strict compliance with copyright and editorial ethics;
- accurate observation of journal issues schedule.
The materials submitted by authors for publishing must meet the following requirements: the relevance of the topic, the scientific novelty of the research, the originality of the research problem and the applied research methods, the high scientific and practical significance of the results obtained. Papers are accepted for publication in Russian and English.
The materials submitted to publication are initially selected for compliance with the declared scientific areas of the journal, the general content requirements and the requirements for providing references. If the paper passes initial selection, it is sent for review.
After the review is completed, the author is sent a text of the review and a copy of the manuscript with the comments of the reviewer and the scientific editor for revision.
The editorial board has the right not to publish articles based on the results of the review, inconsistencies of the article to the journal areas and also because of a poor quality of the material preparation.
The editorial board is responsible for the preparation of the article for publishing, ensuring a fair review, but is not responsible for the accuracy of the data provided by authors and the correctness of citing.
The decision to publish or reject the materials submitted to the publication is made by the editorial board in accordance with the Declaration of Publication Ethics.
Articles are permanently accepted for publication in the journal. The editorial board independently decides on the order and time of papers publication, based on their scientific significance, the topic of each issue, and the quality of preliminary preparation of manuscripts.
Papers are published in Russian and English.

Peer Review Process
Reviewing papers submitted to the editorial office of the journal is aimed at ensuring the high quality of scientific papers published in the journal. All papers submitted to the editorial office for publication are reviewed.
The scientific paper undergoes peer-review twice: internal peer-review is carried out by the experts of the journal editorial board; external peer-review is done by experts who evaluate the level and clarity of presentation of the submitted material, whether it fits to the journal’s aim and scope, if your work is new and original as well as the conclusions are reliable. Reviewers' recommendations are the basis for the decision to publish the paper. The paper can be rejected both at the stages of internal and external peer-review.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PEER REVIEWERS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The reviewer evaluation contributes to making editorial decisions, as well as to improving the quality of the published article through the cooperation of the editor and the author.
When discussing the author's response to the review, the reviewer has the right to participate in the debate.
Rapid Decision Making
The reviewer should inform the editor and excuse himself from the review process if he feels unqualified to review the research presented in the paper, or he knows that he cannot meet the deadline.
Confidentiality
Any manuscript submitted for review should be treated as a confidential document. It is not acceptable to show it to other reviewers or discuss it with other experts without the permission of the editor-in-chief.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviewers should express their opinion clearly and reasonably: reviews of scientific works should be objective and do not contain personal criticism of the author.
Authentication of References
Reviewers should:
- analyze the sources used by the author of the paper, as well as the quality of bibliographic references of the citations used in the paper;
- identify published materials in a peer-reviewed manuscript that are cited but not bibliographically referred by the author;
- draw the editor's attention to significant or partial similarities with another paper which is familiar to the reviewer.
Information Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Confidential data or ideas, which the reviewer learns during the review, should remain confidential and should not be used for personal gain or transferred to third parties. Reviewers should not be involved in the review and evaluation of manuscripts in which the reviewers are personally interested. Unpublished manuscript should not be used by the reviewer in his own research without the written permission of the author.
Publication Frequency
Rules of Publication
- The editorial board evaluates the submitted documents in terms of their completeness (in accordance with paragraph 4), screens the text of the paper for unoriginal material using "Antiplagiat" system and reviews the papers in terms of relevance, scientific novelty, quality, compliance with the main scientific and technical fields of the journal.
- If the paper is returned for revision by the editorial board recommendation (up to 12 working days), the journal indicates the date of receiving the corrected text.
- Authors of papers are not paid a fee; papers are published free of charge.

The papers that do not correspond to the subject matter of the journal and those not meeting its requirements, as well as submitted not in full completeness, will not be accepted. Manuscripts are not returned to their authors. The editorial board is not obliged to review all incoming materials and does not discuss rejected manuscripts with the authors.
Open Access Policy
The policy of the editorial board of the journal is aimed at no breach of laws by all the members, including founders, publishers, authors, editors, reviewers, members of the editorial Board and the editorial staff of the customized edition, i.e. complying with the laws of the Russian Federation on copyright, adherence to the Declaration of Ethics for the publications of the Editorial Board, based on the Sarajevo Declaration on the Integrity and Visibility of Scientific Publications (2017) and the Declaration "Ethical Principles of Scientific Publications" adopted by AIRP (Alliance of Independent Regional Publishers, 2017)
The editorial board of the journal does not do with manuscripts submitted for publication in other editions. In the event of the discovery of this fact, the editorial board of the journal will have to retract (withdraw) such a publication. Information about the retraction of articles is posted on the publication's website, also it can be found in the issues of the journal and the State Comission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Council on Ethics of Scientific Publications of AIRP.
