Abstract
This study examines the problems and the search for optimal methods of teaching students probability theory, combinatorics and statistics. The fundamentals of applied orientation in teaching probability theory, combinatorics and statistics are revealed. On this basis, the educational and methodological support of this mathematics section has been developed for teaching middle and senior school students. It is proved that such a methodical approach forms the critical thinking of students.
