The Soviet Union in the Trap of «Imperial Overstrain»: Questions and Problems of Studying Soviet Policy
Resumo
This article is devoted to a critical analysis of the thesis that the USSR collapsed due to «imperial overstrain». The theoretical and methodological basis of the work is research considering cause-and-effect relationships leading to a crisis and the decline of great powers. The study examines arguments about the overstrain of the USSR due to significant military spending and efforts to maintain international influence. The conclusions of the study point to the insufficient validity of the thesis about the «imperial overstrain» of the Soviet Union as the reason for its collapse.

Resumo
The study’s aim is to determine the origin and structure of the vulnerabilities within the East Asian model of rapid expansion and to assess the “capacity” of the conflict potential in the region. The scientific significance of the work is determined by the development of a comprehensive methodological approach to solving such problems, while the practical significance stems from the great importance of the East Asian region for Russia in the political and economic dimension at present and in the long term. An essential contribution of the work to the relevant field of knowledge will be the adaptation to the research logic of several scientific and theoretical concepts and obtaining solid conclusions on their basis.

The Great Lakes region is a complex web of political and economic interactions with major implications for peace, security and governance. In the post-war years, the law enforcement forces were assigned several important and responsible tasks of national importance. The fight against the nationalist underground in the western regions of the country, the protection and escort of an extremely large number of prisoners of war, the protection of objects of strategic importance, and many others. The successful completion of the assigned tasks testifies to the extent of the practical experience gained in all spheres of the life of the troops, including personnel work. But have the declared party and state principles of working with personnel always been observed in the process of their real implementation?

The article deals with issues related to the study of historical and cultural heritage as a phenomenon that formed the basis for the dialogue of cultures and civilizations in the North Pacific. The main aspects and internal content of the historical and cultural heritage in general and in relation to a specific territory are determined. It was that given territory that the struggle for colonies unfolded in the 18th - first half of the 19th centuries. The main works are considered. The article was prepared using an interdisciplinary approach.

“Protocols of the Elders of Zion” as a Sign of the Era
Resumo
The article is devoted to the history of the anti-Semitic provocation of the twentieth century - “Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between the provisions of the document and the genesis of Nazism in Germany. Historical retrospection, analysis, synthesis, logical and chronological methods were used in the work. When writing the article, the works of Russian and foreign researchers were used. The author concludes about the significant influence of the ideas of the “Protocols” on the formation of Nazism in Germany in the early 20th century.

The Reasons for the Decline in the Social Status of the Pechenegs in Hungary in the 10th–11th Centuries
Resumo
After the migration of Hungarians to the Middle Danube, they retained a negative ethnic stereotype of the Pechenegs, although there were no major conflicts between them. The loss of hegemony by the Pechenegs in the Northern Black Sea region contributed to the resettlement of part of the Pechenegs to the territory of Hungary. Gradually, such settlers were no longer recruited for military service, and with the development of feudal relations in Hungary in the 11th century. the Pechenegs who lived on its territory joined the ranks of the serfs. The methodological basis of the work is the methods of analysis of medieval sources developed by Hungarian researchers.

Formation of Image of Russia in the West
Resumo
The article carries out theoretical analysis of the notion “image of a country”, its structure and functions as an enemy image that Russia fulfills in Western countries. Also, the author makes historiographic review of formation of the image of this country in public opinion in Western countries (USA and Western Europe) on the basis of stereotypes appeared in XVI - XVII centuries. The article justifies permanence of basic traits of image of Russia in the West by analysis of findings of sociological polls.

Typology of Interethnic Relations in Military Groups of Conscripts
Resumo
A military team is a specific hierarchical organization, which includes a set of formal and informal relations. Contradictions in military teams, due to the rich national composition of the Armed Forces, are sometimes difficult to attribute to interethnic, due to the specifics of barracks life and military service, which imply the formation of aggression and deprivation among personnel. The author presents the types of developing interethnic relations in military groups, considering their socio-psychological characteristics.

The article raises the problem of the effectiveness of the formation of personnel reserves of the state (law enforcement) service in the Russian Federation. The article touches upon the interdisciplinarity of social adaptation as a social phenomenon. The author derives from social transformation and phenomenal complexity stipulating necessity of its research through scientific perspectives. Combination of sociological, psychological, anthropological approaches is mostly effective through criteria of motivation, impact on social environment and self-reproduction. Interdisciplinary approach to social adaptation is stipulated by their intersection.
