Getting published: 10 important tips to publish a manuscript

1. Compliance with the journal’s profile:
2. Please read the section “About journal” on the “Resources and Technology” homepage and assess if your manuscript is suitable for this journal.
3. The journal publishes papers in various fields of the forest sector, e.g. forest policy and economics, the various aspects of sustainable forest management, wood harvesting, forest industry, forest bioenergy, wooden construction, forestry machinery, etc.
4. Submissions from interdisciplinary studies on natural resources management and related technology in the former Soviet and Nordic countries will be particularly welcome.
5. Note, only original research, analytical overviews and brief communications can be submitted on the understanding that the work is not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
6. Manuscript preparation:
7. The manuscript should be written in clear, concise and grammatically correct Russian (with English summary) or English (at least 15 000 symbols).
8. The recommended organization of an article is: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, Acknowledgements, if necessary, and References.
9. A4 paper format, the margins should be 1.75 cm on each side of the paper (top, bottom, left, and right sides).
10. The paper style of “Resources and Technology” must be followed. Please download a template file from the “Resources and Technology” homepage to prepare your manuscript.
11. Page 1 should contain the article title, name(s) of author(s), affiliation(s), the name and complete mailing address (including e-mail address) of the person to whom correspondence should be sent, the abstract and the keywords.
12. The title of the paper should be short, precise and written without any abbreviations.
13. Authors' full first and last names must be given. Abbreviated middle name can be added. For papers written by various contributors a corresponding author must be designated. The following format should be used for affiliations: complete address information including zip code, city, country, and email address should be added. All the authors who contributed significantly to the manuscript should be listed on the first page of the manuscript, below the title of the article. Other parties, who provided only minor contributions, should be listed under Acknowledgments only. A minor contribution might be a discussion with the author(s), reading through the draft of the manuscript, or performing Russian/English corrections.
14. An abstract should contain of 250-350 words, without any citation and footnotes. A list of four to six key words, of which at least three of them should not be appeared in the title of the paper.
15. Headings should be upper case and in bold type. Sub-headings should be lower case and italics.
16. The full titles and the cited papers must be given. Reference numbers should be placed in square brackets, and placed before the punctuation; for example [1] or [1-5], and all the references should be listed separately at the references section.
17. References should preferably be prepared with EndNote or a similar bibliography software. If references are prepared manually they must be checked for integrity and correctness using Scopus, ISI Web of Knowledge, AGRIS or Google Scholar.
18. Authors are encouraged to prepare figures and schemes in color. Figures must be numbered and an explanatory title must be added. Tables should be inserted into the main text, and numbers and titles for all tables supplied. All table columns should have an explanatory heading. Please supply legends for all the figures, annexes and tables. The legends should be prepared as a separate paragraph of the main text and placed in the main text before a table or an annex and after a figure.
19. When preparing manuscripts in MS Word, the "Resources and Technology" Microsoft Word template files must be used. Please do not insert any graphics (annexes, figures, etc.) into a movable frame which can superimpose the text and make the layout very difficult.
20. Manuscript prepared in MS Word must be converted into a single file before submission.
21. Manuscript submission:
22. Manuscript should be submitted by e-mail (rt@petrsu.ru) or, alternatively, online at rt.petrsu.ru by registering and logging in to this website.
23. Manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter, which should contain a statement that the manuscript has been seen and approved by all authors. The contribution will imply that this paper has not been published elsewhere and, if accepted for publication in the "Resources and Technology", it will not be published in any other journal in the same or similar form without written consent from the (Deputy) Editor-in-Chief Editor.
24. Check in your cover letter whether you supplied at least 3 referees.
25. Check if the Russian/English corrections are done before submission.
26. Manuscript reviewing:
27. Authors should suggest at least three potential referees with the appropriate expertise, although the Scientific Editor will not necessarily approach them.
28. The proposed referees should be experts in the field and not be current collaborators of the authors nor have published with any of the authors of the manuscript within the last 5 years.
29. The proposed referees should be from different institutions than the authors.
30. Authors may identify appropriate Editorial Board members of the journal as potential referees.
31. Another possibility is to select referees from among the authors that you frequently cite in your manuscript.
32. Language corrections:
33. This journal is published in Russian (with English abstract) and English.
34. Manuscript should be submitted in grammatically correct Russian/English for proper refereeing and quick publication. For this purpose we ask that non-native English/Russian authors ensure their manuscripts are checked before submitting them for consideration.
35. We suggest that for this purpose your manuscript be revised by a Russian/English speaking colleague before submission.
36. Supplementary material:
37. "Resources and Technology" wishes to encourage the submission of supplementary data in electronic formats, so that important scientific information is retained in full.
38. Conference slides, video sequences, software, etc., can be included with the submission and published as supplementary material.
39. Supplementary data can be submitted by e-mail with the main manuscript file.
40. Manuscript revision by the author:
41. The review(s) from the external reviewer(s) along with the review from the Scientific Editor are provided to the author(s) no later than four weeks after the submission of the paper.
42. The corrections in the paper should be made by the author(s) within the next four weeks.
43. If the author(s) disagree with the reviewers comments, the author(s) can discuss unjust remarks with the Scientific Editor by e-mail.
44. Manuscript accepting:
45. After all the necessary corrections are made and proofed by the reviewers the manuscript is accepted by the (Deputy) Editor-in-Chief.
46. Manuscript proofreading:
47. The revised manuscript is delivered to the author(s) for proofreading. Two weeks are given for the proofreading process.
48. The manuscript after the author(s)’s proofreading is checked by a language corrector. The correction process lasts two weeks.
49. Manuscript publishing:
50. The completed manuscript is signed by (Deputy) Editor-in-Chief Editor.
51. The paper is included in the next issue of the journal.
52. The paper is immediately published on the “Resources and Technology” homepage.

Preparação da Submissão

Enviando o manuscrito a escritório editorial para avaliação, os autores são obrigados a concordar com todas as seguintes cláusulas. O manuscrito pode ser devolvido aos autores desde que este não corresponde a estas cláusulas.

• Эта статья не была раньше опубликована, а также не представлена для рассмотрения и публикации в другом журнале (иначе объясните это в Примечаниях для Редактора).

• Отправляемый файл рукописи имеет формат Microsoft Word или RTF - *.doc, *.docx, *.rtf.

• Интернет-ссылки представлены в виде полных URL.

• Текст набран с одинарым межстрочным интервалом, шрифт Times New Roman, 12 pt; для выделения используется курсив, а не подчеркивание (кроме интернет-ссылок); все иллюстрации, графики и таблицы расположены в тексте там, где требуется по смыслу (а не в конце документа).

• Текст соответствует стилистическим и библиографческим требованиями Руководства для Авторов, расположенном в разделе "О нас".

• Были удалены имена авторов из заголовка статьи и выполнены другие требования документа Обеспечение Анонимности при Рецензировании.

The editorial Board of the journal and the administration of the website of the journal do not transfer personal information in any way specified by the users when working with the website of the journal to third parties, except for those cases and to the extent specified in the terms of the copyright agreement.
The affiliation work and e-mail address of the authors of the manuscript accepted for publication will be published in the section "information about the authors" of the printed version of the journal and in the section "about the authors" on the page of the article on the website of the journal.
The phone number of the corresponding author will be known only to the editorial Board Secretariat and will only be used in cases of emergency.
