Abstract
The article examines the issue of tactical training for speed skaters in the mass start discipline. It discusses the characteristics of the discipline and the main tactical models.
The purpose of the study is to develop models of tactical solutions based on the identified most effective tactics in the mass start discipline of speed skating.
Research methods: analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, video analysis, methods of mathematical statistics.
Research results and conclusions. An analysis of the performances of the world's top speed skaters in the mass start discipline during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons has been conducted. Based on the results of the best skaters in the overall standings of the World Cup in the mass start discipline, the most effective tactics for completing the mass start distance have been identified for skaters specializing in various distances. Models of tactical decisions have been developed. The results of the research can enhance the level of tactical skill of skaters in the mass start discipline and can be further utilized in specialized training for the mass start discipline.
