Abstract

Intramolecular cyclization of 2-(2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxine-2-carbonyl)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide by the action of concentrated sulfuric acid gave 5-(2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine which was acylated with acid chlorides, and the resulting amides were reduced with LiAlH₄ to afford the corresponding N-substituted 5-(2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine derivatives.
