Selection of Structural Dimensions of Twin Liners of a Mud Pump Cylinder and Calculation of Strength of Coupling with Assured Tightness

The possibility of extending the service life of the cylindrical liners of U8-6MA mud pumps is considered. It is suggested that cylindrical liners that have, to some extent, become worn out should be bored out and twin liners fabricated. The diametrical dimensions of the twin liners are given and the resulting forces that arise in the course of the shaft’s travel are calculated. Alternative rebore options under which the condition T_f < P_sh holds are given.
