Abstract
There are indications in the literature that perinatal mortality among boys is slightly higher than among girls. According to K. I. Zhuravleva and V. A. Kushnirova (1964), of the total mortality of children in the 1st month of life, their death in the first 7-9 days among boys was 63.7%, and among girls - 54.5% ... The authors note (based on a large amount of material in the region as a whole) that birth trauma as a cause of death of children occurs in boys much more often than in girls. Other diseases of newborns were observed in approximately the same percentage.
