Abstract
The purpose of the study is to examine the results of the performance of the Crimean team at the All-Union Spartakiad in 1928.
Research methods: analysis and synthesis of scientific-methodological literature, archival materials, and periodicals from the examined period.
Research results and conclusions. It has been established that the low overall tenth place among the teams from the districts of the RSFSR was due to the lack of experience among Crimean athletes in participating in large competitions, as well as the weak level of personnel and material support for the physical culture sector in the republic. The commendable results in several disciplines (swimming, athletics, tennis, football) indicated a significant potential for the development of physical culture and sports in Crimea and were of great importance for this sector on the peninsula in the following years.
