The reaction of 3-aroyl-1H,6H-pyrrolo[1,2-c][4,1]benzoxazepine-1,2,4-triones with thioglycolic acid resulted in regioselective reduction of the C³=C^3a bond with the formation of 3-aroyl-2-hydroxy-1H,6H-pyrrolo[1,2-c][4,1]benzoxazepine-1,4(3aH)-diones.
