Special features of electromagnetic energy accumulation at regular surface inhomogeneities on a dielectric sphere

Resumo

Evaporation of a water drop with ~1-mm diameter under the action of laser radiation with 10.6-μm wavelength and power-flux density within (4–12) × 10⁵ W/m² is shown to be determined by the optical properties of regular inhomogeneities occurring on the spherical surface of the liquid.
