Crystal Structures of Chromium Cyclopentadienyl Catecholate Complexes

In the interaction of [CrCp*₂] (Cp* = η⁵-C₅Me₅) with 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone (Q³⁶), mixed-ligand complexes with the respective monoanionic (SQ³⁶) and dianionic (Cat³⁶) dioxolenes [CrCp*₂][Cr₃(μ₃-O)(Cp*)(SQ³⁶)(Cat³⁶)₃] (1), [{CrCp*(Cat³⁶)}₂(μ-O)] (2), and [Cr(thf)Cp*(Cat³⁶)] (3) are synthesized. Their crystal structures are determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The conclusions on the charge state of the central ion and ligands are drawn from the obtained data.
